Our promise to the environment

Sustainability with FAE

At FAE, sustainability is not a statement, it’s an ongoing commitment grounded in data, transparency, and continuous improvement. We recognise the environmental impact of fashion and take responsibility for understanding it, measuring it, and reducing it wherever possible. Our approach balances considered design, performance, and measurable environmental responsibility.

Data-Led Transparency

To move beyond surface‑level claims, we partner with ENVRT, a sustainability intelligence platform, to assess the environmental impact of our swimwear.

Using ENVRT LAB™, each stage of our production process has been analysed — from material selection through to manufacturing. This assessment provides clear insight into where we are already achieving meaningful progress, particularly in water use efficiency, while also identifying opportunities to further reduce carbon impact.

This work represents a milestone in our sustainability journey, not an endpoint. The findings allow us to move forward with clarity, accountability, and direction.

A full breakdown of our sustainability assessment and methodology is available here.

Responsible Materials

Material choice plays a significant role in environmental impact. Across our collections, we prioritise more responsible fibres while continuing to evaluate opportunities for improvement.

At FAE, we use recycled fabrics to create every range. Our fabric choices include ECONYL®, Carvico® in Italy, and REPREVE®.

By using these fabrics, we are reducing our carbon footprint and minimising the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and oceans.

Product-Level Impact Reporting

Every FAE product features an Environmental Impact Report on our website, allowing customers to view key indicators such as water scarcity and environmental impact on a style-by-style basis.

This transparency enables informed choices and reflects our belief that progress is strongest when it is visible.

Design for Longevity

We design with intention — creating timeless, high-quality swimwear made to transcend seasons. Longevity is central to sustainability, reducing the need for frequent replacement and lowering overall impact across a product’s lifecycle.

Packaging

Our swimwear is packaged in cornstarch garment bags made from renewable plant materials and non-toxic compostable resin. These bags are 100% home-compostable, helping reduce plastic waste.

Consumer Use

Once the product leaves our warehouse, the environmental impact does not end. The way the swimwear is used and treated significantly affects it’s lifespan.

We provide care instructions for our swimwear to help extendit’s longevity, and we encourage our customers to follow these instructions to reduce the need for replacement bikinis.

Transparency & Educating

Promoting sustainability is not just a responsibility but a shared goal. We’ve realised we need to be here to educate as well as deliver the goods as we too see value in becoming transparent across all aspects of the business.

As part of our commitment to transparency, FAE is working with sustainability partner ENVRT to better understand the environmental impact of our swimwear. Through lifecycle assessments, we’re gaining deeper insight into our materials, production processes, and opportunities to reduce our environmental footprint. This work is ongoing and continues to evolve alongside our collections, helping to inform future design and sustainability decisions.

For The Planet

We believe that sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We are always looking for ways to improve and make our products more sustainable. Together, we can make a positive impact on the environment and create a better future for all. We hope that when you purchase FAE you know that you are doing your bit to contribute to a more sustainable future.
